63rd Republic Day Message by Hon’ble
Vice-Chancellor of JNTUK
while addressing the gathering.
Date: 26th January 2012. Time: 10.05 am
On the eve of 63rd Republic Day, on behalf of JNTUK and on my personal behalf wish every citizen on this occasion a happy, bright and prosperous future in their endeavours and individual lives also.
Republic day in our nation’s life reminds us that we as a Nation have attained right to self-determination, we have resolved to ensure equalities of opportunities and freedom to live and grow with dignity.
Present generation has to decide and perform so that future generation lives in the glory of nation being a super power (in terms of work force), as past generations sacrificed their lives to ensure independence for us.
A country becomes great, when every citizen thinks and acts with greatness. Today the greatest challenge before the present generation is to ensure equality of opportunities, of good education for all the children. Our education system has to develop great thinking capabilities to have creative minds in each student.
Every student has to have confidence in his knowledge and acquired skills for seeking jobs in this knowledge era. Good schools and educational institutions imparting excellent education for the growing youth population is a key factor to future of India in particular and the entire world in general.
The Indian Scientific and Medicine manpower is spread across the world for instance
About 25% NASA Engineers are Indians, 22% of Professor in American Medical Colleges are Indians and Indians have proud their brains in silicon valley and growth in software world.
What is difference then? The difference is the attitude of the people, framed along the years by the education and culture. On analyzing the behaviour of the people in rich and developed countries, we find that the great majority follow the following principles in their lives, as ten commandments;
i) Ethics, as basic principle
ii) Integrity
iii) Responsibility
iv) Respect to laws & rules.
v) Respect to the rights of other citizens.
vi) Work loving
vii) Strive for saving and investments.
viii) Will of super action
ix) Punctuality
x) Patriotism.
We lack the WILL to comply with and teach these functional principles of rich and developed societies. Let all of us resolve on this occasion to change our attitude and outlook towards our Nation.
In this direction, GOI through NKC building NKN for the educational institutions across the country to share and contribute to the knowledge resources available in the country and the world to make them prepared for global competition.
- In future, the corporate credibility depends on Innovations, Inventions and number of patents at their credit.
- There is a great Demand for creative minds. Whole world’s progress is in your minds, not in your hands.
- All corporate industries are MNC’s having Clientele world over. The Engineers need to equip themselves with good communication and presentation skills as well.
JNTUK initiatives:
- Training & Placements for students.
- Training for Faculty members
- Leadership orientation programs for Principals and Administration
- Providing Strong & Industry relevant curriculum.
- Sound extra & co-curriculum activities.
